How to play Proximo Hoops
Proximo Hoops is a calm daily NBA puzzle about memory and intuition. Name the mystery player, then follow the clues to the next one.
The goal
Solve seven mystery NBA players. They form one connected chain, from easy to hard. Solve one and the game shows how the next player connects to someone you have already solved. That connection is your starting clue.
Making a guess
Type any NBA player: full name, last name or nickname. You can guess as many times as you like. Every guess gets a rank. Rank #1 is the mystery player, and the lower the number, the closer you are. Each guess also says why it is close, such as shared teams or overlapping eras.
Hints and points
Each player is worth more than the one before, from 400 points for the first up to 1,000 for the seventh. Fewer guesses and fewer hints keep more of those points. One hint is free after 5 guesses. If you are stuck you can pass a player for 0 points and carry on with the chain.
The daily chain and random chains
The daily chain is the same seven players for everyone, and a new one arrives at midnight Eastern. Once you finish it you can play random chains for practice. Your streak counts days in a row that you finish the daily chain.
